Since establishing Australia's first library social work program in Melbourne in 2019, I have visited programs in North America and worked with libraries in Australia to set up their own in-house social work practice, based on local needs. This growing practice assists staff and community in equal measures - and is another way that local government can make ending homelesness everybody's business.
